Sharon West , I believe you are referring to profiles:

http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Stout-39 and

http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bogart-492 .

Sources:

http://archive.org/stream/historicalgeneal04stil#page/327/mode/1up and

http://files.usgwarchives.net/nj/monmouth/history/family/stout01.txt .

But I do not have your Answer, just trying to help you clarify your Question Ma'am . I posted links to both profiles in the Public Comment for both Profiles. JPVIV :)

Thanks

Thank you.  Yes they are the profiles.  Said to be the son of James and Elizabeth Truax? Stout and his wife.

Thanks

Stillwell had read the work of Nathan Stout on page 15-16 incorrectly.  See research note on Benjamin Stout-39 profile.  Thanks for the input  Sharon

So I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to do since their is a debate about this but I have a family tree that was given to me by an aunt, it says

Ruth Bogart.   B: 1709 in Middletown, Monmouth, New Jersey, USA.   M: 1731.   D: 1804 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, USA

Father: Cornelius Bogart .  B: 03 September 1682.   D: 27 April 1728

Mother: Cornelia Delamater.   B: 19 September 1685 in Harlem, New York, USA

I hope that information could help maybe fact check or whatever has to be done before the information is added

Hi John - If any of the sources corroborate, then by all means, yes, you can add the data and specify the sources.

Ancestry.com has an app, "We're Related" that may only be family tree based, so I hesitate to add anything to the line when no sources are present, and right now, the Ruth Bogart profile (essentially) has no sources. Some that are shown on the husband's profile could probably carry over, if they are validly both additive and pertinent.

The suggestion from Ancestry/We're Related is that daughter Mary Stout (ca. 1742-1839) married a Howell (showing a pedigree of descent that ultimately leads to Neil Armstrong - I can share it if of any interest, but without confirmation of which daughter married a Howell, it's falling into speculation now, since neither Mary nor Rachel's profiles were created), but on the husband's profile, it looks like that was Rebecca.

I'll take a look at the above provided references to see if we have anything with which to proceed with certainty.

From the "Historical and genealogical miscellany," I see the handwritten note by Rachel's name that suggests that in fact Mary was the one who married Stephen Howell: "Mary - see Stephen Howell's will, Somerset Co., NJ, Will Book . . "

One is left to wonder if Mary also married Mr Hunt, if Mr Hunt married Rachel, or if Mr Hunt married any Stout woman?
The other text repeats that Mary married a Hunt, and Rachel, a Stephen Hewell. . .

Nevertheless, the one pedigree work is somewhat of a solid secondary reference on Ruth Bogart, and the other is somewhat confirmatory.

I'll be off to FamilySearch, but will take the time to add these to Ruth Bogart.

Revised:

Has been moved in FamilySearch to parents Benjamin Stout and Ruth Bogart, which fits with prior evidence except the note about her name possibly being Mary, instead of Rachel.

At any rate, much about these parents and their children on FamilySearch needs some evaluation and pruning in one place (i.e., WikiTree) or both places after vetting in terms of which relationships and lineages are supported by sources (where they exist).

Because this family is an ancestor of astronaut Neil Armstrong's line via Rachael [or Mary], who married Stephen Howell (d. c. 1819) etc, it would be great if we could resolve the differences between here and FamilySearch.

I am putting followup on Benjamin's profile.

For those that might have the patience to deal with it, FamilySearch has Benjamin and Ruth, but the children are not assigned correctly (some might be Benjamin I or III's) and some apparent duplication, conflation, and/or misidentification appears to be rampant.

I did find a tertiary reference to a secondary source ("The Descendants of Edward Howell") that (reportedly) does identify Mary (1742-1839) as the daughter who married Stephen Howell.

Thank you
