how can i find a decendants name whom i do mot know (i.e. family tree)??

i do not have some family members names and /or maiden names such as great grandparents etc for my famiky tree.

Hi, Jennifer. write down the information you have and where you found it (certificates etc).A birth certificate should give the name of parents and may give more information about them (residence, origin, age etc). Armed with that information, you can then look for marriage certificates etc. Censuses can also help you find information on a family. It's also useful to look around some of the family history sites to see if other relatives are tracing the same family, as this can save you a lot of time (not to mention money!!!). Jennifer, start by adding what you do know.  I see that you haven't yet added your parents.  Add them, then adds their parents. As Susan said, cite what records you do have. As you work back up the tree, you increase the likelihood of connecting with someone else here who might be related or who can help you find information about your family. Good luck.
