His mother is listed as "Lambourne" whom I believe to be Eva Sylvia Lambourne who was married to Sidney Douglas Cooknell .I can find his birth record (V9c P1568) but cannot find any other information. Any suggestions would be grateful, trying to put together the "Cooknell) family history.

Hi, My name is Dawn Cooknell (gone back to my maiden name) and my father is first cousin to Sydney Cooknell.

Sydney married Eva Sylvia Lambourne. Eva had a daughter, Brenda before she married Sydney.  Sydney and Eva had chn: Hazel born 1940 and Christine born 1943.  Raymond was born in 1948. We also believe he was adopted.  I did try to make contact with Christine about Raymond but she never replied.

Who is the relative asking the question? If Raymond is her Nan's brother, she must be descended from Christine  or Hazel I think.

Can you give me the details of her family as my details may not be complete. We are happy provide what information we have if required and do you have a family tree on Ancestry or My Heritage?

We are currently living in a Caravan Park and our belongings are in storage while we are waiting for our new home to be built which means much of my Family History is also in storage.  We expect to be in our new home in about 3 weeks so should be able to help you further at that time.

Look forward to sharing more Family History with you.

Dawn & Brian
The friends name is Lisa Marshall and Brenda was her Nan. I'm sure she would be delighted to see the info you have. I don't think she has a tree on ancestry, but I have been helping her with a search for info, so I might be able to contribute a bit of that. You could email me an email address to pass on to her to iain_@hotmail.com Have you seen the 1939 census info? I have that for Eva and Brenda. Thanks

Christine died last year and brenda my nan died in 1999 but we are really trying to find raymond my nan brenda always wanted to find him but never could now my mum really wants to find raymond xx we live in nuneaton. Are you local at all ?
Hi Lisa,

We are from Australia, we live in Geelong, Victoria. We too are trying to locate Raymond.  We only became aware of him last year when searching birth records.  Do you know if anyone has his birth  certificate as this is the starting point.  He was born April-June 1948. Vol.9c and Page 1568 at Nuneaton, Warwickshire.  His mother was: Lambourne.  The adopted parents may well have changed his name from Raymond.

Did your Nan ever mention if Raymond was adopted at birth or sometime later?  Also, did she ever mention any possible surnames of people with whom he maybe adopted by and also the County.

Do you have any contact with Hazel?  She maybe able to recall some of these details as she was 8 years old when Raymond was born.  If you have any of these details, please let us know and we will try to help..

You maybe interested to know that we found a niece of Sydney Cooknell and cousin to Hazel and Raymond who was also adopted at birth.  She too was born in Nuneaton as well and continued to live in Nuneaton after being adopted.  She was born in 1931 and still alive.  We now write to each other.  She was thrilled to find she had siblings still alive and living close by.

You are welcome to contact us directly on: bsmi0496@bigpond.net.au
