Ok Thanks
That's great, Kathleen Johnson, can you repost your source-a-thon request as an answer? The system works better for assigning race numbers that way. Sorry for the inconvenience. I have your number waiting for you (-:

I thought I had registered but I am finding the system a bit too complex for my new eyes on this page.

I am interested in doing this there are too many profiles listed without sources and I would like to help. I am based in Ohio and I have ancestors in Kentucky and West Virginia. I am currently working on ancestors in Pike County, Kentucky, Floyd County, Kentucky and Johnson County, Kentucky on my paternal line of ancestry. However I would be willing to help with any Kentucky, Ohio, or West Virginia profiles. I know that this is about all the unsourced profiles, but I am including a link to my old website if anyone is interested: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~elyandra/
[Please Note: I have switched over to Wikitree for most of my research and the old website is needing a massive update, but the surnames are listed on there that I have a connection to directly]

TY Liz Shifflett :)

Have you signed up with a team yet? Would be happy to have you join Team Missouri, it covers bordering states including Kentucky.

I haven't signed up for a team yet. This is my first time doing this challenge, I'm still trying to wrap my head around what all is involved. I know the local library doesn't have much on Missouri though. I do have access to Ancestry, Family Search and Heritage quest online though. My local library has a bunch of Ohio stuff, some WV and KY, but not as much as Ohio. I do like the idea of a team though. I don't know how well I will do this first time, its not the apply yourself to doing this aspect, its the I find a profile and have to find sources for multiple ones that might be an issue. I just spent 3 - 4 days researching a profile that I helped merge to get information on the individual. so that might be an issue. But every little bit helps I suppose and I can always go back and add more information later for them so I could get the sources on the profiles and go back afterwards to put the transcriptions in and everything else.
The object of the Source-a-Thon is to remove profiles from the unsourced categories. So if you add even one source that is definitely an improvement. Let me know if you would like to join Team Missouri. There are some additional online resources for Missouri listed on our Team page.
I have switched, as well. I found many ancestors in N. & S. Carolina lately. I would like to be a part of this team.

I'll sign up, though I am not sure of my plans for that weekend.

I am located in Northern Virginia, USA, but was born in England, and my genealogy focuses on England.

I will join Team GB, and will probably focus on sourcing Members of Parliament.

If I find profiles which ARE unsourced, but are not MARKED as unsourced, do they count?
by Janet Gunn G2G6 Pilot (156k points)

Thanks Janet! You're number 302!

http://www.wikitree.com/images/source-a-thon/bibs/302.png

P.S. to count, a profile must be in an unsourced category before the Source-a-Thon starts. See [this page] & also [this G2G post].

Add me to the list!  I'm not yet certain if I'll be working that weekend, but I'm sure I can do at least some sourcing.  I'll focus on Pennsylvania, and perhaps New York and New Jersey..
