I hope everyone is doing well! It has been a little while since I have posted in G2G but I have some good news!
While doing some more research on Maggie Maloney, especially in regards to her epilepsy, I discovered that she may have been living in a colony for individuals with epilepsy in New York. According to this website http://epilepsyed.org/history-of-epilepsy/
I discovered that just 30 miles away in 1896, the Craig Colony for Epileptics opened in Sonyea, Livingston, New York. The timing of this founding could very well mean that Maggie did not marry but was being taken care of in an area that is relatively close to home. I found further information here and plan to call a few places next week to inquire about her possible stay there.
If you have any further suggestions for this process, please feel free to let me know.
UPDATE (30 mins later): I discovered an annual report of the colony! It mentions that nearly 85% of individuals with epilepsy died before they were 20. Whenever Maggie would have been admitted, she would have been 32+ years so she was a rarity!
Have a great weekend,
