Hi Maureen,

I don't think any of these people are connected. William & Honora baptised their daughter in Terryglass - Tipperary. The daughter is my husbands grandmother & her name was Catherine. They had about 13 or 15 children but I was trying to find Honora's family. For some reason when we were in Ireland we took a lot of photo's of Hogans in the Terryglass cemetery. At the time we were trying to trace the Stanley side & found out so much about William & Honora but not their parents or siblings. Honora used money given to her from the sale of family property to send her daughter to Australia. Catherine was only 16 & she would have never seen her parents again. Thank goodness she met a lovely Irish man Henry Keough.

Thank You for your help.

The best bet in terms of a marriage I can find is in 1881, registered in Borrisokane. Unfortunately there is no image available for the cert online but you could order this if you wanted to confirm. This gives Honoria's maiden name as Hogan or Hagan.

There are several possible baptisms in Tipperary around 1855: one in Silvermines and one in Ballysheedy in 1857, one in Clonmel in 1855 itself and another in Clonmel in 1856. If you wanted to go for the 1855 one based on the DOB given in the death cert, her parents would be Jacobus Hogan and Margaret Walsh and the baptism was 29 October.

If you had them in the 1901/1911 censuses you might be able to get a feel for the accuracy of the DOB but the census DOBs are typically not accurate.

Hope that helps.

Thank You Cottrell-943 for answering so quickly.

Unfortunately they didn't marry in Ireland. Because William Stanley was protestant & Honora Hogan was catholic they eloped to England & married.

I have found an entry on Honora's Baptism - being her Mothers maiden name was Keane & I was trying to verify that & also her Fathers first name.

Thank You so much for your time. Time is so precious.
