how do i put information on some else tree?

There is only one tree. If the profile is open you may add info if it is accurate & properly sourced. However, as Wayne mentions, discussing changes (removing parents/spouses/siblings) with the profile manger is usually appreciated.

Give the tree owner the info,let them enter it if they want too.

There are no "tree owners."  There is only one tree and we can all add to it, regardless of who is the profile manager unless the profile is private.  If private, you can ask to be put on the Trusted List and then add the information.

If I add a 'father' to a profile, do I become the profile manager of the 'father' of that entry or does the original profile manager take over the 'father'?

And note that you can always remove yourself as a Profile Manager at any time by going to the Privacy tab and make the necessary changes there.

There have been many of us who will create a new profile, enter the data we find, and then remove ourselves as Manager, thereby "orphaning" the profile. This is ok. It allows other interested people the ability to adopt the profile (and become the Profile Manager) later if they so choose.

But you CAN add yourself as child of your parents, since their profiles are open. When you are not the profile manager you do this by entering edit mode, clicking on add/edit children far down in the right margin, and then entering your wikitree ID - Brough-324 - in the box.

There can be more than one Profile Manager on any profile. Perhaps you can reach out to the current manager, explain the situation, and ask them to add you as a Profile Manager too.
