Why is WikiTree still accepting Adoptions request forms?

Hundreds of adoption request forms have been submitted since the Adoption Angels Project started in Dec. Countless members who submitted forms have never been contacted by an angel. Why still accept the forms if hardly anything is being done with them?

@Terri I agree. If you offer help to an adoptee then you should follow through. This project was started without enough experienced adoption angels. Honestly the project isn't equipped to handle this.  It's a roller roasting searching for your biological parents. I was adopted and have helped numerous adoptees find their parents using DNA. There are adoption angel groups out there with years of experience.

http://www.wikitree.com/contact/adoption/  After the form is submitted it goes to the google group. Then the adoptee is added to the pending section of the angels sandbox. 

An angel then volunteers to help the adoptee. 

Over a hundred adoptee's who submitted forms.  Not many have been added to the pending section.

 Several members are upset that they were never contacted and I don't blame them. If we offer the help we should give it. If we can't then stop accepting the forms.

Can the adoption angels project please respond to this question?

This is a shame - I would think there are a lot of people that started to get their hopes up and are starting to lose that hope. I don't have the expertise in this area. Perhaps some dialogue needs to take place to move this up in recognition. I have several questions.

1.  What are the steps that need to be taken when a form is submitted?

2. Who is able to take those steps?

3. Does this require collaboration with outside entities?

4. What rights does the adopted person have in locating their biological Mother and Father?

This area is so foreign to me - perhaps if we get the dialogue started and members understand more about this process, helpers could be located to move those forms into action status.

This seems to be a worth while question. I know that wikitree admin is involved with the current sourcing contest, but this question was asked before that effort started.

Perhaps it would help if additional tags were added..

I'll do that.  Is therevany interest in furthering this project????

With the project members or just the team?  I was removed without any explanation from the Google group. My numerous requests to be added back have gone unanswered. So, if there's been any discussion in the last month I've been unable to read them since I don't have access anymore.
