I am searching for my great -great uncle Cage Vaughan, brother of Joel Wesley Vaughan of Douglas County Georgia

Question

I was told my Vaughan ancestors were originally from North Carolina but moved to Georgia after their land was taken because the taxes were not paid.  I was told that Cage once got so angry he cut out a mans eyes after he was dead, filled the sockets with sand and put the eyes back, and was accused of being a warlock.   I believe Cage  may have fought in the civil war but I'm not sure. I hope that time line helps.  Cage's brother Joel Wesley Vaughan, was born in 1858 in North Carolina and died in 1943 in Georgia. Joel Wesley Vaughan was the father of James Vaughan and James was the father of Joel Signal Vaughan and Joel Signal Vaughan is the father of John Lee Vaughn  (the army mispelled our last name from Vaughan to Vaughn when my dad was drafted)  and John Lee Vaughn was my dad.  I can't find any info anywhere on Cage Vaughan and he is the ancestor I am curious about.

A Joel W Vaughn, b May 1858 in NC is found in the GA census data for 1900, 1910, 1920 married to Sally Barton.  Don't know if that is your ancestor.
