how can alice phillips shaw have been born in 1631 and have a son,james shaw,being born in 1632.i have searched and found her birthdate issued in 1604,1606,about 1610,and 1631.something isnt right.because if she was born in 1604 she would have been in her 70's when she gave birth to her youngest son..help going crazy.

I came across a similar scenario in my research.  One explanation could be something like this.  

Alice Shaw might be the second wife of James Shaw's father.  If Alice is significantly younger than the boys father.  Then she is simply the boy's stepmother who happens to be younger than he.  

Or perhaps James is Mr. Shaw's nephew or cousin, or even a much younger brother.  The family may have taken him in and are raising him as their child.  That is, if Alice is much younger than her husband.  

It could be one of many reasons.  If you're not yet aware of a previous marriage.  That doesn't mean there isn't one.  You'll figure it out!

Also, her's is such a common name.  You could be seeing docs for other women w/same name, place and similar DOB's.  I know it has happened to me, .
