Thanks, Barry, for all your work! In the tutorial linked at the top of the page, we're asked to include the source we've added, such as "South Australian Genealogical Index" or "baptism record". We're looking for profiles that are in the Unsourced Profiles categories.

Of course any improvement to any profile is always a good thing!

These profiles were all in the unsourced categories.

I recently found that Index records were acceptable, and many of my profiles already had the index records and it was only necessary to delete the {{Unsourced}} from the profile.

Some profiles I have adopted and have replaced the Unsourced with Research_pending.

There are other profiles where I have added the South Australian Genealogy Index data, but if the profiles are not included in the South Australian Index I am leaving them until I have completed all those that are.

There are approx. 150 still to do, and then the remaining will take some time to research and completely remove all the Unsourced Categories.

I had commenced correcting the profiles before I registered for the Source-a-thon. It may be better if I just continue editing my profiles separately from Source-a-thon. My efforts will still help to eliminate the Unsourced profiles.

I have copied and pasted my activities from my Family Activity Feed which does not include the data that was edited, and with the number of profiles left to do it may be best for me to operate separately from the Source-a-thon.

I have checked the Help but can not see how to make the list single spaced.

I hope this explains what I am up to but as an Arborist it is important that the profiles I manage are of an acceptable standard. There is still a long way to go but at least I am trying.
Barry, I also sometimes feel that the work I'm doing as a leader / ranger / project leader, etc., doesn't exactly line up with one of our events. I like to follow along and participate, and then sometimes lose enthusiasm for tracking the list of profiles I've touched as I tend to wander off as I follow a family line. Of course any work that improves the state of a profile is needed! You're very welcome to keep at it here with the Record Romancers.

I'm not familiar with the process of removing Unsourced in favor of Research Pending. Can you point me to the page where the process is defined? Thanks!
I've been categorizing profiles (lots of profiles which are actually unsourced are not categorized) to prepare for the source-a-thon. It's hard to move on to the next "categorized unsourced"   when the parents and siblings of a profile are also unsourced, but without the category.

Hi Karen,

Categories: Templates

This can be used for profiles uploaded or were adopted but research is pending.

To use it, just insert the text {{Research_pending}} below the source heading, at the bottom of a profile. Don't forget to use the underscore between Research & pending (Research_pending)

Result:

Research Pending
This profile was adopted and needs research. Please cite any sources/corrections.

Research Pending is a template that I am now using when I adopt an unsourced profile. I only use it on adopted profiles.

Pj, this is great! Thanks for all your work!
I was on a roll with Australian records from a branch that ran parallel to mine that immigrated to the US from Ireland/Scotland until my satellite internet went out for 26 hours. When I called, I was told the entire area that used that satellite was down until the engineers could repair it in space. (Visions of the movie Gravity came to mind)

I'm trying to retrace my steps to find not only the site with all the Australian immigrants from Ireland, but remembering who the unsourced ones were. I'd found 1 person and discovered an entire tree from them down unsourced and hadn't marked them done on the print out, so it's back to checking each one lol!

I hope my number wasn't pulled. I'd rather it not than finding that I wasn't online to claim a prize, for I was really hoping for one of the DNA kits or subscription to one of the records sites. I do belong to the international ancestry, but quite often the records I'm tracking are from the sites I don't have memberships :(
Yay, I hit the 100 mark! Wish I hadn't lost yesterday's work when I lost internet for almost 24 hrs!

JoAnn, in the "team" email that I received last evening, you were listed with a bib number of 467.

Your bib image would be at http://www.wikitree.com/images/source-a-thon/bibs/467.png .

Exactly so, Eric. I believe JoAnn can include the image by using the Image button here in the message editor and including that URL:

Thank you
