My 2 x Great Grandfather, John Stuart Rust b Aberdeen 1826, was around 37 years old in this photo, he died young at only 50 years old in 1876, of an aneurism or heamorhage of some sort , suddenly , unexpectedly (as hazard for those of Royal Stuart bloodlines/ they were often heamophilliac's) his 3 x great grandfather Charles Edward Stuart / Bonnie Prince Charles , died with a similar incident.

I wanted to share this family photo of John Rust with the community. Location: New Zealand. Date: After 1863.

I think it was Queen Victoria's descendants who had hemophilia not the Stuarts.

pretty sure some Royal Stuarts / Stewart's also , in New Zealand we have Stewart Island (part of & right below NZ) the Maori (native NZer's) who married into the Stewart's (Royal lines) have Heamophilia ; the combination maybe exaggerates the condition (or creates it) concerns me because my son & Grandson are part Maori.

remember the Stuarts married into all sorts of European Royal families , Austria , Prussia , Spain, France , Germany , Italy, Ireland , etc ,My Dna ethnic make up reflects a lot of those (even though its 7 generations  between me and Bonnie Prince Charles ( he was 1/4 Italian , Scottish, English, Irish, Austrian, German , French , Polish etc)
Hemophilia is an X-linked recessive disorder and cannot be passed by a father, it passed from mother's to their sons. So, Charles Stuart could not pass it to his children, it would have to come from their mother.
think thats right actually , I guess its the Stewart Island males having haemophilia that got me confused , I know one of the mothers and I'm sure she said it was from the Stewart lines that caused it?

He is a very proper handsome man. Is he royalty? Does he have a title?        IMHO it doesn't matter what he died from. It is interesting but not important. What us important is that he is family and family is what it is all about. Thank you for showing this  picture with us.

John Stuart Rust is my 2 x Great Grandfather , family insisted we are descended from Bonnie Prince Charles, Charles Edward Stuart, and My DNA and other family kits are all related to royal Stuart lines descendants (other DNa kits)
i run a large facebook page for descendands of Royal Stewart , to compare their Dna and communicate /; share their lines ; and Stewart / Stuart info, I match most of the proven royal lines, gedmatch kits at Genesis dna level and above
John Stuart Rust would be the gr gr grandson of Charles Edward Stewart , via his Mother Margaret Douglas Stewart; we also descend from Earls of Angus
many Stuart / Stewart lines both maternal and paternal
and Paternally from most Mayflower lines .. and many Magna carta Barons
