And it was created through a GEDCOM , with no profile manager.  What should we do?

It does contain info about where it came from, but no sources other than the GEDCOM.  I am not familiar with GEDCOM's, so I don't know what the status might be.  Am assuming it represents someone.

Also.  How does it exist w/o DOB?  Is there an exception for GEDCOM's?

Since there is absolutely no information other than the name, and no connections, and it's orphaned, I would go ahead and use it for your James Grant.  The ancestry link goes to an empty page now, so there's no info there to show who he was supposed to be.

There's no exception on dates for a gedcom, but this profile was created before the at-least-one-date rule was put into effect.

I found a "Maidlow Family Tree" on Ancestry (there may be more than one) and tested some of the names, none of which appeared in Wiki Tree. I agree with Nan that this is an abandoned profile, open for you to take over and make it your own. If you do, be sure to delete all the gobbledy-gook refering to an Ancestry file.
Nan, Jim, I thank you both!
