Has anyone else here had any issues(security issues) while on the BillionGraves website?

I visited the site for the first time yesterday.  I'd only been on it for a minute.  And suddenly my computer was frozen.  A message popped up that said my PC had been infected.  Said I needed to call the phone and speak to a tech about the security risk.  They said I needed to purchase more security and I wasn't sure what to make of it.

So, I took care of it, but if I hadn't called the #, the message said they'd shut my PC down.  Though I couldn't use it anyway.

Just wondered if anyone else had any issues?

No support and no refunds. It wasn't until I was checking my bank statement that I discovered I even had a subscription at Billion Graves. My card had been charged without my knowledge with no warning, no reminder, no email, nothing. My email to their "Priority" support only got me a copy-and-paste reply that had absolutely nothing to do with my questions. My second email didn't get a response at all. They care nothing for the users, only the quick buck they're going to take from you without telling you first.

Do NOT sign up here folks! You'll get no support and no refund when you're charged without your knowledge.

I've never had that problem on billiongraves. However I have seen them.  Those are 99.9% of the time scams. When that happens don't contact them or give them money, just shut off your computer and restart. That should do it. If it doesn't you may have a virus.

I thought it might be a scam.  Though I didn't want to ignore it.  I didn't buy anything.  Just checked the security I already had.

I just didn't think they could shut my PC down unless there really was an issue.

Do I need to be concerned about them?  The tech was inside my PC, right in front of me, showing me stuff.  I thought they were from Microsoft.

Thank you!
Suggest you check all your personal info on your computer. Change all passwords. If they were in your computer they could have gotten all kinds of data you don't want out there.

Mary Cole .. Unless you had a service contract with whoever was "looking" at your computer then It was a hacker scam. There are many groups who use that scam in a variety of ways. There are many sources were you can be hacked like that.

Shirley Dalton  "Suggest you check all your personal info on your computer. Change all passwords. If they were in your computer they could have gotten all kinds of data you don't want out there." is correct !  You need to check everything on your computer.

Usually and technically that kind of hack is not a virus but it can be. They tend to add "cookies" to continue to gather data. They were probably  gathering your data and personal information while trying to scare you into buying their product . When you saw them on your computer they had full access to ALL of your computer information including any of your personal information, passwords, usage, photos etc etc.

In my opinion You should at least system restore your computer to several days before the hack.

I would consider saving all the information you have to save on USB memory sticks, reformat the hard drive, reloading the operating software, add a Web protection Software, (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2388652,00.asp ) run a virus scan on the USB memory sticks you saved to and start clean.

If you have financial information on your computer I recommend that you look at your accounts and inform your bank, credit cards etc etc .

Anonymous Meyers 's advice " When that happens don't contact them or give them money, just shut off your computer and restart." ( or restore to an earlier time) is great advice.

Thanx for all the advice (everyone)!  I will take it.  There is so much I still don't know about the internet,

It all seemed so legit, until they tried to get me to agree to purchase $300-$400 dollars worth of additional security.  The security I have must be working, because I haven't noticed anything untoward (thus far).  Though I wonder how my security system allowed it to take place at all.
