Yes, but I cant find where. Trying to find out where in Oregon he was if that is known.

That's because he didn't go. He was in no condition to travel after Randal McCoy shot him in the shoulder after the burning of the McCoy Cabin in 1889. The jostling from the wagon and trains over that distance would have been too painful. If you draw a line under "OREGON" the 'R' turns into a 'B.'  Unscramble the letters and you'll see where he was, with the 'G' left over. Johnse Hatfield was my maternal great grandfather.

He may have gone when he was younger to work, but most probably he got information about the area from someone he worked with and trusted to give him accurate information, .

By the way, where did you get your information?
I went to an estate sale two years ago in Portland, OR, area. Their last name was Hatfield. I purchased huge pile of quilts made over decades by Mrs. Hatfield. I was told that they were related to the Hatfield family on East Coast and theirs was the first Hatfield family to come to West sometime after the feud. They didn't know if they were related to Johnse though. Weird.
What your implying is that Johnse Hatfield fled to Boone North Carolina?

What reason do you have to believe that he had a proven residency in Oregon
