Where is Catherine Kent and Louis Girard?

Hello! My gr-grandmother is Amelia (Emilia, Emily) Girard (Gerard) ; on her marriage record, 29 October 1883, to Louis Klein, which I have a copy of, she states her parents are Catherine Kent and Louis GIRARD. Amelia is said to have been born in Alsace-Lorraine though many census and the marriage record says she was born in New Orleans, La w/ parents from France. My mother, my Aunt, Uncle and grandmother insist she was not born here. This dilemma is creating a nightmare! Amelia is not documented anywhere (that I can find) prior to her marriage in 1883. Neither are her parents. I have tried to obtain actual records of her birth in New Orleans, but they have stated it can not be obtained due to a Fire in 1895. The courthouse was destroyed along with all of the records of the City Court, including almost all of the marriage, birth and death records. And, I really want to break down this wall. I'm trying not to be lengthy, but thorough. My other dilemma with them, After learning the history of Alsace-Lorraine, I am curious, are records from this area that difficult to obtain? And can anyone help me? I have no idea when Louis Girard or Catherine Kent was born. Amelia was born 28 October 1865 and died on 29 May 1965 in New Orleans.. thanks everyone!

p.s. Their marriage record is no longer available on Ancestry; if anyone needs it to move forward, please let me know....

I suspect they are confusing Emily Klein and Emily Klein. Both were married to guys named Louis.

One of them was already married and had children in 1880.  Her census reflects births in Switzerland, Germany.  She was most likely born in Alsace.  It changed hands a lot.

Thank you, I have the 1900 census for the family and she is the first one. The second one, from Germany, is not her. She married a Klein out Bavaria, a wealthy family in New Orleans. They owned a Restaurant in New Orleans called Cobbs - but now it is Jägerhaus; and also supposedly Farbacher Brewery. Later known as Jax Brewery. But, I can't find proof of that. Being Jewish, they weren't accepting of him marrying a Catholic woman from France. Story has it, I know.. but she is said to have a very difficult relationship with his family. Which doesn't really coincide with most of their children being buried in his family plot..
