Help finding a needle in a haystack

I need some guidance on a big project from my grandmother. She has forgotten her grandmothers first name and has asked me to help her find it. Here's what she knows: Her father is Ludwig Schneider and his fathers name was Jakob Schneider. His family is from a tiny town of Schrollbach, Niedermohr Germany and all but Ludwig was buried in this small town; Ludwig was buried in Stuttgart, Germany. Ludwig has 2 brothers who were in WWII and both died during; neither of which were married or had children.  Here's what I know: Ludwig was born 1907 ish and died 1983 ish. There is a maiden name of Rubler in my grandmothers side and I think it is her grandmothers maiden name if not it is Voss. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Since the profile is set to yellow privacy the help will also need to look for the needle in the haystack with a blindfold!  :D

I just found this on a list of free genealogy sites this morning, maybe it will help:

German Genealogy Server: German ancestry research (many sections in German)

I hope this helps.

Debi

I have updated the profile I thought it was already changed. Thanks for letting me know!!
Would there be a list, already made, for the translation of the individual line-categories?

For the time after 1872/1875 you should be able to get official vital records from the responsible Standesamt. Schrollbach is now part of Niedermohr and that is part of the Verbandsgemeinde Ramstein-Miesenbach. The email address for the Standesamt is hildegard.baldauf@ramstein.de and for the city info@ramstein.de

I checked the Stuttgart Standesamt and they only keep the death records for 30 years.  After that they are at the Archive.  Here is the contact page:

Thanks for letting us know.!

Is that a consistent rule, keeping death records for only 30 years? I wonder

I have ancestors who died in Karlsruhe at much later dates, but not modern ones. I need to know where to look!
No, there is nothing consistent as far as how long a Standesamt keeps the records.  You should check the local Standesamt first and see if they still have the records.

I am currently researching records in a Standesamt that go back over 200 years.  However according to a change in German law in 2007, death records over 30 years become public data.
