I checked WorldCat, InternetArchive, HathiTrust, and Google for a book by the title with no luck. I was doing exact name searches so it wouldn't have been found if the title is a little off.

Where did you find out about it? Were there any more details?

It is written by Linda Lawman Johannes and it is suppose to be available at the Morganton Library, Morganton, NC.
She has a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/linda.lawmanjohannes). You could try contacting her directly to see if she has any copies left.
If there is a copy in a library, see if your library can get it through the inter library loan program.  Some libraries do not loan out their  genealogy books however.
Yes I have done that and she has not responded to my message.
Debi, I finally got in touch with Linda Lawman Johannes on Facebook and she says that she did not write that book.  But i found out that i AM kin to her and she gave me some good info on the Lowman's.  Still havent's found that book..

Happy/Sad for you. Glad she provided some info on your Lowman family; sad that you still don't have access to the book you're looking for. Did you have any luck finding out about an inter-library loan from the Morganton Library?

I just checked the Burke County Library's online catalog and didn't find the book you're looking for but did see this one which might be of interest:

The Lowman story of fate, hope, hard work, and dreams / Margaret Lowman Smith.

Good luck with your continued search.

yes...thank you very much...i have heard of that one too...i'm about to check it out now...thanks again..
Laurie Lowman,

I too am related to the Lowmans.  Is there any chance you could email me some of the info that Linda Lawman Johannes gave to you?

My email address is: zpinkerton@gracecom.net

THANKS!
Ill have to find that info and get it to you asap. How are you related to me?
I read the "Lowman Family of Burke Co." a few years ago.  I traveled to Burke Co., N.C. to research my fathers family as we knew very little about it.  I found the book in the Morganton library.  You can not check it out, so I went in for a couple of days and made copies of some of the info and pics.  It made ALL the difference, I found my family at long last.     That has been about 20 years ago, and I now have one of the more extensive family histories which you can find on Ancestry.com.  I update it frequently and never stop cemetery hopping and researching.   I have helped a few of our new family members along the way.   I DID NOT WRITE THE BOOK, but I will always be thankful as it got me started with that side of my family and have met a lot of our family....The actual authors were two sisters who wrote it together who passed away shortly after I found their book.
