When did the Scottish Clan Template change from "Member" - "interest in" [closed]

There is currently a G2G discussion in progress regarding the use of categories and templates. A sugestion was made to add another template for " interest in" a specific Clan Name.

I have just seen some profiles that I manage have hade their Clan template changed from Clan Member to Interest In.

Why has this happened, Why were we not informed whoever did it please change it back until we have an agreed consensus.
closed with the note: this question was resolved with the addition of a third template, which is now the subject of a new G2G thread: see https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/347182/

There are two templates, {{Scottish Clans}} and {{User Scottish Clan}}.  The 2nd one is a User Box for use on members' own profiles.  Looks like the wrong one might have been changed.
Where can I find these templates? and has the change error been reversed

Hi Magnus,

Your last comment has not really told me anything, yes I can find 2 templates

1) XXX has an interest in

2) this User is a member of

Problems

 1) has been applied across the board, I am sure my ancestors will be glad to know they have an interest in their clan e.g. Andrew Stewart Stewart-1621 is not a User.

2) this user is a member of equally cannot apply as e.g. Andrew Stewart Stewart-1621 is not a User.

Suggestion If we have 2 Templates

1) apply across the board this person is/was a member of Clan XXX

2) For Users this User has an Interest in Clan XXX

If at all possible 1 should link to the Clan Category but

2 Should not.

Please can this be sorted out quickly as questions are causing confusion on G2G

I just gave you the links to who has changed what and when and the profiles using the templates and where to find the templates....

As an answer on what happened when...

To progress I suggest coordinate with the users who has changed the templates...

I will speak to Doug and am already on good terms with Stuart-531.

Yes you have answered my initial question for which I am grateful however I have also notified you of an error in this style change and offered a solution with a request for action.

Sorry I cant change templates no privs I am on Chris black list ;-) ....

Hi Allan! I changed it back to "is a member of". Looking at Doug's profile page, I think there's maybe a need for a third template - one for folks working on a particular clan but not a member of that clan.

Doug - I can help you & Maria with a third template if that's what's wanted. Let me know.

Cheers, Liz

edit: see the finished template at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:User_Interest_Scottish_Clan

ps - I'm getting ready to go on another roadtrip soon, so I did some playing.

This user has an interest in Clan Stewart, Scottish Clans Project

It's currently not an official template (it's here - http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:Noland-165_Sandbox ).

I would propose the template be called "User Interest Scottish Clan", patterned after "User Scottish Clan".

Hi Liz, Thank you for your efforts in getting the Clan "member" Template reinstated.

I think your proposed  Clan "Interest" template is the answer, as an additional Template, as the one size fits all policy is certainly not working in this case.
Y'all ok with the third template being named "User Interest Scottish Clan"? If so, I can move it out of my sandbox & create it officially.
I just realized I never posted where the new template can be found:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:User_Interest_Scottish_Clan
Thank you Liz
