Where are my relatives?

I started this tree to gain facts regarding "Who I am, who are we that are related to each other, what is my progeny, where did my seed come from, in other words; what was i born to do?

It is interesting that in this day and for those of us who count ourselves among the educated, need to follow our hearts - to be happy! O.K., i admit there is a leap of faith needed to assume homanids need to be happy. But, its not a huge leap. The question for me at present is "What was I born to do?"

My answer from the beginning of this self-reflection, self search is "My early lifes experiencesI have formed deep within me a character. Among my many traites is this I have always wanted to observe but not neccesarily participate... something that I refer to as instinct. How one views opportunites as they arise from the etha of life, those eve ts or opportunities, in my mind were not all good, rather if your not careful then one can easily shoot oneself in your foot... So instinctive behaviour is at least a little random in me, at most moderated by successive use of a strategy for survival, but determined as much by the experiential data retained by my individual lifes experiences... Nut that lot out, if you dare!

Ok, one stanza of prosy and one of practical advice.

Knowing where we came from won't tell us what  to do. Wandering through ancient groves can't show us what is true.  Your lineage may be full of joy or skitter in the night but knowing what your family did won't show you what is right.

As for advice. 1. lLearn how to change the aspect of photos  2. If possible make your privacy setting more open, i.e. let us see some more via having a biography that we can read.  3. learn the difference between your ancestors and you progeny.  As my wife said.  If you don't know your progeny, you might want to get in touch of your old girlfriends.

Tony, If I may offer a suggestion, to help the younger generations answer this question and more I would suggest interviewing yourself. I am including a link to some possible questions to ask, and answer, that would provide later generations with a better insight into your life.

You ancestors may have given you the building blocks, but it's up to each of us to build our own house. They are not the answer to the who am I question. my opinion of course.

One of the books i read asked the question "What relative do you feel you are most like?"  I didn't know the answer to that even though I have a close relationship with my family.  The only one I think I might have some connection to is a great aunt, and that is mostly based on my mother's memory of her reminded her of me.  I never to to meet her, but my oldest brother spent a week with her when he was a young boy.  I tried to pump him for information but when he wasn't in the mood, it was hard to drag answers from him.  I asked him what was she like.  His response was "Oh, I don't know."  So I asked him, "Did she have a sense of humor?"  He said, "Yes, yes she did."  So maybe I am like her!  I should have pumped my mother for more information before she got dementia but dementia kind of sneaked up on me, and I didn't know my time was limited.   I have spent a lot of time researching my great aunt but I haven't found anything useful.  One would think there would be something out there because she was the first female secretary in St. Louis, MO; I can't even find her obituary.
