Okay, here's a serious answer, and one that I'm liking more and more the more I think about it:
My suggested contestants lived almost exactly diametrically opposite one another on the globe, so picking them would help to emphasise that WikiTree is a worldwide effort, and not restricted to one or a handful of countries or languages.
One died this month, and another had his birthday this month.
Both had essentially the same job (head of state) for their respective countries.
One has something on his Wikipedia entry that I've never seen before: a table of ancestors. If we (or at least, those of us who edit Wikipedia as well as WikiTree) can learn how to do one of those, then we might be able to help spread the practice on Wikipedia, and thus make connecting Notables a little bit easier.
The one constraint is that the respective profile managers would have to open up their profiles for editing.
