How Nice to se the children also could have fun in the old day playing bowling. Really a treat to se this great photo with happy children

Thank you for sharing
Why are some of the pins smaller? I remember bowling alleys something this, only the pin boys were in the back and they would set the pins in some sort of jig. Thanks for sharing rod!
Glad you enjoyed this photo, Susan. Thanks for contributing.
I don't know, John. I'd never seen the small pins either. You are welcome. This is in 1909 with a primitive support configuration and no mechanisms in place. It is an interesting photo though. Thanks for sharing.

Pin boys working in Bowling Alley

pinsetter, or pinspotter, was originally a person who manually reset bowling pins to their correct position, cleared fallen pins, and returned  bowling balls to players. Probably due to the nature of the work (low-paid, often part-time, manual labor that most frequently took place evenings), many pinsetters were teenage boys, and thus pinboy is another name used to describe the job

The smaller pins I believe are called duck pins and a smaller ball is also used..

I love the photo being an old bowler so thank you so much for sharing your photo with our Wiki Community..  Very nice Rod.
