This photo was found in a wood box that had belonged to Thomas Page Hurd grandson of Thomas Hurd. Thomas and Manoah Hurd were brothers. On back of picture was written Manoah Hurd Brockton, Mass. Manoah is my 3rd great uncle.

On many levels this wonderful portrait with your historical notes is of treasured importance and is worthy of being shared in a museum.

The technical quality of the portrait could be restored to an exceptional presentation.

Does GAR stand for Grand Army of the Republic? He looks like he may of fought in the Civil War between the States, by the outfit he has on. Great photo! Thank you for sharing!
