Medora (Dora) Pauline Russell

I may not have asked this question properly and thank you to those who did try and help.  What the mystery is AFTER 1885.  Where did she go?  did she marry again?  have more children?  I just got a possible hint from My Heritage.....there was a Dora Russell in Washington whose children died?  Does anyone have an Russell relatives in Washington between 1885-? that may be related?  Thanks so much.  Cherie

My great grandmother "Medora (Dora) Pauline Russell"   born @1864.  She left the family in @1885 never to see her children again. (Calif)  Was never divorced ....(married name Melton)....and likely married again and had children.  I'm not an experienced genealogist but have looked for 3 years.  My heart hurts because of her situation and she is what started me on my searches. I know there are some home genealogists out there that love a good mystery,  can you help? (I cannot pay but will be soooo  grateful.)  I have a F.T. here under the name of "Cherie Sharp" for her family relatives.

James Russell,mother Elizabeth,she 16 years old.Also in 1870 Census

Morro,San Luis Obispo,California.
