I wanted to share this photo of Jim Glass with the community. Location: unknown. Date: 1934.

I don't know if this pic has anything to do with my Glass but my line I noticed firearms on the wall.  Strange.  My line had physcians, and bar owners as well and some lived in the Jefferson Co, TX area so could have worked in refineries as well.  Plus where I live there was a well known factory that used a lot of welders.

Perhaps he was a member of a welders union?
This Glass family were from India and were dark skinned with brown eyes. If you look at the family photo closely you will see this. Uncle Jim could eat hot chillies straight from the jar, an ability not common in those of European extraction.

I don't  think those are firearms on the wall. That is a common way to store pipes and metal in a workshop. Even today overalls would be worn in a workshop like this. Maybe  today they would be designed to be more visible but basically would be the same. I used to do work at factories about 35 years ago and the same overalls were worn.
