I wanted to share this family photo of John Thomas with the community. Date: 1915.He began working in the WV coal mines at age 13. He worked hard and was rough and tough, as his environment formed him. But, he had a heart of gold and no one, including strangers, left his home hungry. He even gave away a brand new sewing machine during the depression, to a stranger with poorly clothed children.
