Is error 568 working correctly?

I noticed a new error pop up on my watchlist: Error 568 on:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Skousen-31

I'm not sure if understand this error correctly. I think it is for profiles not connected to the global tree?

But in this case, the profile is connected. It's 51 degrees from Kevin Bacon.

I checked the first 5 profiles on the error list. 4 of them are connected to Kevin Bacon and the other key profiles.

I am from Sweden and I also feels I don't understand when people call something connected or not...

If we check Niels Skousen-31 he is connected to Jacobs-2987  but the error report complains

I don't understand do you need to be blood connected?!?!

When you on profile  Skousen-31 select menu option Global Connection and get  AJ Jacobs is 53 Degrees from Niels Skousen

Are you connected or not connected?!?!

No, blood connections are not necessary.

There are millions of profiles on WikiTree. The majority of them are all connected together (either by blood or marriage, etc). This main group is collectively known as the global tree.

There are other large groups of profiles that are connected to each other, but not to this main giant tree -- yet. All these smaller trees are "unconnected," in WikiTree terms.

It theory, all humans are a part of a single global tree, and perhaps even a single common ancestor. It may never be proven.

This is WikiTree's mission: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/About_WikiTree
Yes, as I mentioned already, Niels Skousen appears to already be connected -- which is why Anders is questioning the accuracy of the error report in this regard.

In db_Errors project, I build a tree based on data in database dump. And in dump protected profiles are excluded, private and private with public bio don't have parent relations and all private profiles don't have marriages. So in absence of this data my global tree is smaller than Wikitree's. It's size is 7,028,366 out of 10M+ profiles. It could be called public global tree.

So profiles in question are connected to Kevin, but through private connections. In such cases, other connections could be found or error should be marked as false error.

that makes sense. thanks Aleš
Your answer explains a lot, and answers the question I've had about several of my errors. You might consider a footnote in the error explanation regarding private vs. public.
I think it is mentioned on error 106. I will add full explanation.

hm I didnt find any private connections

Jane Kheel and John Stanley are private and marriage is 'not visible'.

Thanks Aleš another example that WikiTree need to redo the privacy so it's consistent...

Picture from Special:Connection that thinks its no secret that Jane is the husband of John

Thank you for the explanation, that clarifies it for me.

I have a pending merge, that might give Niels Skousen a better connection to the tree, so that might solve the problem in this case.

Hi Anders,

Background of this error is here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Database_Errors_Project_2016-11-13.

Connectors requested this error for their purposes.

I agree with Anders, the profile appears to be already connected to the global tree, so unless it was a very recent change, the error report appears to be in error.

I have not made any recent change to connect him.
Adding the tags SYSOP and WIKIDATA (+DB_ERRORS) might help to have the attention of a member of the Database Errors Project to get a deeper explanation than the one entered on the project's space profile.
