Kocherthal Party-Palantines to America

My name is Kari Wentworth and I have been researching my maternal line--the Foulk/Volck family. My Foulk ancestors moved to America from the Palatinate region of Germany in the early 1700's. They were part of a group led by Rev Joshua Kocherthal. Here is a link to a list of the names and occupations of the Kocherthal Party for anyone who is interested.

Have you seen Hank Jones books on Palatine Families?

I have not seen any of his books, but the threerivershms.com website has a link to his website.
I went to a talk he gave and it is fascinating what he has done. And I have absolutely no-one in the family that is remotely connected to the Palatines.
Glad to meet you, Kari. I also have Palatine immigrant ancestors who immigrated to the New York Hudson Valley and also to eastern Pennsylvania. As Rosemary says, their stories can be fascinating. It's likely that we'll find opportunities to compare information and collaborate, although I don't see any of my known ancestors on the Kocherthal party list.

Kari --

How nice to meet you! :-)

Andreas Volck is my 6th great grandfather on my paternal line. My line comes down through Andreas Jr, and it looks like yours come down through Carolus. This makes us 7th cousins, once removed.

I have collected quite a bit of information on the Volcks/Fulks (and have a copy of Rosemary Faulk Lovell's Owen County Cousins). Quite a lot of this family is here on WikiTree, and there is a lot of work still to be done. ;-)

I look forward to working with you when our paths cross!

My husband is also related to this family.  His grandmother was Velma Blanche Fulk that is in the Owen County Cousins book.  :)  Are you on Gedmatch?  I am going to have to upload his stuff to Wikitree.
Hi, Catherine!

Yes, I am on GEDMatch. You can get my kit # off my profile page.

If you want to send your husband's kit # to me privately, I'd love to go compare.

I didn't find Velma Blanche Fulk in my version of Owen County Cousins, but I do think there is more than one edition out.

Yes, I have a signed copy of Owen County Cousins by the author. I also have about a four hundred page book on the Hausers that she did not complete. Cheers!!

That is awesome.  My husbands family is listed in that book and how much time and effort she put into it is amazing.  :)
