Do you know of Mary Kester Shewfelt 1782-c. 1866?

My 3x great grandmother was Anna Marie 'Mary' Kester, daughter of Leonard Kester and Catharine Keres, b. 6 July 1782 in Upper Mount Bethel, Northampton Co, PA.  She married Peter Shewfelt in about 1800.  Is this a part of your line.  Would you be willing to share information?  Thank you.

Removing this comment per request of Glenda. I shared a link that apparently had conflicting parents for Peter Shewfelt, whom I was googling for further information to help in her research. I was not responsible for its content or connections to other profiles on that particular site.
Thanks, Dorothy.  I already had this much. I was looking for information on her death date which you don't have.  Since it's not your line, this may not interest you, but Peter Shewfelt was NOT the son of Johannes Shufelt and Sarah Freer.  I suggest removing that link so that it does not duplicate.  See   Glenda

I am so sorry this is becoming a hassle for you.  If you hover over Peter Shewfelt on the link you most recently sent me, you will see Peter's parents. The link to these parents, Johannes Shufelt and Sarah Freer needs to be removed.  The Peter who married Mary Kester was the son of Jacob Shewfelt (Jacob was a younger brother of Johannes) and wife Lydia (NN).  He was baptized 14 April 1771 in Nobletown, NY.  You have his death information correct.  I can give you further ancestry details for Peter if you wish, but if you simply replace Johannes and Sarah with Jacob and Lydia, you have fixed it.  Glenda

The link I sent you though this origninal comment i made,  I did NOT create. I "googled" the name of Peter Shewfelt and his birth and death dates and google sent me to it. I can not take out the parents or replace them. It is someone else's tree. I am not a member of that site.  You may try to contact them direct though. You have the link. I have removed it from this comment so it will go no further.

I'm sorry about this whole discussion.  I am VERY sorry that I have wasted your time.  This is the first time I have used WikiTree and I promise anyone who reads this that it will be my last.  I am very sorry that I have taken your time.  The service is very difficult to use and not worth the effort.
Glenda Anonymous ... WikiTree is a great place, we all work together, and try to help each other, the way you asked your question at the start, would have most of us do just what happened, try to look for any and all leads to assist you.  Dorothy jumped right in to try to help you out, based off the information you first posted ... something like that has gotten some people over that brick wall, given new leads they did not have, or in your case it turned out to be something you already had, and you shot the messenger.  Give everyone more time, I just now logged in and found this post, I would of gave you about the same information and some more sources.  Every little bit helps, I have received info weeks or months later here on WikiTree that have opened up new leads on lines that I had nothing on for years.  As for the line in question, two people that gave me information on this line (which is not one of my direct lines) had been members of The Castor Association Of America, I would recommend you contact the CAOA, they may have further information for you.  And give WikiTree some time, it will grow on you.
Virgil - OK, here is my problem with WikiTree (and all other online Trees for that matter).  The Trees are sloppy, no source information anywhere.  How do you expect to have good information when all you do is take info from someone else's tree and post it?!  This should now be like Facebook where your goal is to get as many friends/ancestors as you can without caring about where or who they are.

I have tried emailing the person at the page in question, jsherris.  Now I find another person in charge of thi page:  I will now write privately to her.

Thank you for referring me to CAOA, which I have been aware of.  However, my question here is not about Kester, but Shewfelt and I should not have had to consume as much time as I have trying to navigate WikiTree in order to get the error corrected. Glenda

Glenda: The purpose of G2G forum is to share information about one's family members and or ancestors on the Internet when asked to locate information. I found a link and shared it with you That is what we do. As far as Shewfelt-31 I had nothing to do with that particular profile. If there is a problem with the information then, as you have done now, is go to the source and ask for it to be corrected. That is all I did, shared a link.  Can we close this discussion now please and move forward. THANK YOU!!
