"Hey hey hey

We'd like to know a little bit about you for our files,
We'd like to help you to learn to help yourself,
Look around you all you see are sympathetic eyes
Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home,

And here's to you
Mrs. Robinson"

You didn't read the whole question or it was not listed. I was referring to the Unknown if you invite one to Wikitree.

Since we number ID by the maiden name, you must use the "Unknown" for

her birth name. The number of Unknown profiles is growing despite my efforts. Adding my descendants using some of the Unknowns and using only first initial with surname.

Problem is in genealogy the female spouse no longer uses her birth name unless the marriage goes Wrong.

If you only have her given name and married what can you do? Note: There are some of these in the Unknown Cat. If connected to spouse, why are they there? (Too much trouble to change the Unknown! New Profile.

This is a question I asked myself every time I invite someone new to Wikitree. Just open an Question.
..by invite, you mean to introduce a new profile to Wikitree.  There are always the unknowns in the recycle unknown category that can be used.  Also, they are normally only unknown until the discovery of the LNAB (last name at birth).  When the LNAB is found the proper name can edited-in to replace unknown.
I realize that Vincent, but the problem is getting them to change it from Unknown to their birth name. I see them creating a new profile instead. When others are invited they seem to avoid using the profile created for them (male or female).

The things I named are big and getting bigger daily. Without additional deep research, most won't go away. Like Unsourced profiles, this is a big problem. These have no name and are Unsourced as well.

Those of a spouse should not be in Cat: Unknown unless they were replaced by the birth name on a new profile. Seems these could be merged instead of being in this cat.

Did I miss the obvious?  If you know the individual, call them by phone.  Send them an email.  Send them a Facebook message.  Tell them what WikiTree is about and you think it would be great for them to participate and you'd love to invite them to WikiTree and if they'll give you their maiden name you'll send them an official invite via WikiTree.

Yes you missed it, but answered it too. I was referring asking by mail invitation since Wikitree requires the birth name, and it is not always available  for a married woman. Calling would be ok if she ws local.

Good answer, but not always available. Only one who answered.
