Hello, my name is Annabel. I am from Holland and I am on the search for living relatives of John Dave Landers and because there are many Landers mentioned on Wikitree, I was wondering if maybe there is a living relative among these members who can help me with information about John Landers, concerning the years right after the war before his second marriage with Kathryn of Glanbury.
John D. Landers was a Lt.Col. at the end of World War II and an ace in both the Pacific and Europe.

Dear Annabel,

Here is a likely USA census listing taken just before WWII.  If you research John's brother & sister, you may find more living relatives.

"United States Census, 1940," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KW24-YK9 : accessed 22 November 2016), John D Landers in household of Obidiah R Landers, Joshua, Justice Precinct 3, Johnson, Texas, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) 126-16, sheet 5A, line 32, family 120, Sixteenth Census of the United States, 1940, NARA digital publication T627. Records of the Bureau of the Census, 1790 - 2007, RG 29. Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 2012, roll 4082.

Good luck!  -NGP

Dear Nanette,

Thanks for your suggestion and for the link! You are right, it is better to search through the siblings of John Landers.

Photos and obituary of John Davis Landers http://www.granburydepot.org/z/biog/LandersJohnDave.htm

Not much is known about Landers' post-war life, except that he was in the construction management business and moved a lot. He moved to Granbury about 1979.

A year before his death, in 1988, John Landers gave a presentation before a meeting of the Granbury Radio Control Airplane Club and talked about some of his experiences.
