Lot of varied name spellings Askin, Askins, Erskens,  Erskin, Erskine, Erskins

Abington Vital Records to the Year 1850: Deaths

Erskin, Christopher, April 19, 1775, in 75th year. GR1 (p. 275)

Bridgewater VR to the Year 1850: Marriages

Askins, Christopher and Susanna Robinson, Oct. 15, 1729. (p. 36)

Christopher Erskin, Sr  Birth: 1700, Scotland  Burial: Mount Vernon Cemetery  Death: Apr. 19, 1775 Abington, Plymouth County, MA

Note: many texts indicate he emigrated from Ireland, as did Susanna's father Gaius, rather than from Scotland as noted on findagrave.

You have answered some very interesting questions for me. You have given me a brand new start on my family line based on the info on the gravestone and comments about the name change and coming from Scotland rather than from Ireland. Family history indicated a closer tie to The Earls of Mar than would have been indicated by just looking at the line.
