Help with someone's possible brick wall in a "Genealogical History of the Hoyt, Haight, and Hight Families by David Webster Hoyt."  "(351) VII Benjamin (6th generation) b. June 22, 1770; m. Sally Whipple, of Charlestown, Ms. changed his name to WHITE; a confectioner in Portland, Me., previous to 1812.

I stumbled across this, and just thought I'd post this since it would be frustrating for a "White" researcher to realize that their ancestor (1770) was originally a "Hoyt".
