OK Lots of help needed....

Alright I am thoroughly frustrated with the Measels/Mizell line. There are fathers listed as brothers of themselves and fathers listed as children of themselves. I will post the profile ID's here. I have attempted to initiate merges between the OBVIOUS duplicates but no on e seems to want to do it and I don't understand why.

Thomas Measels for some reason has his father Thomas Mizell as his brother and his father. Thomas Mizell needs to be merged with Thomas Measels because they are the same person. Thomas Measels is shown as the brother of his father Thomas Mizell.

it should go like this Thomas Measels born to

Thomas Mizell born to

Thomas Mizell born to

Jonas Mizell

I would greatly appreciate some fixing on this! It's very difficult to follow family members through a discombobulated tree.

Thank you,

Measells-13 showed born in 1758 (that's corrected).  Now it's like the other two duplicates for that profile.  One of them was connected to the same mother as his father (that's fixed) which is why it made them look like brothers.  Now the matter of merging the three duplicates and all should be in order.

thank you for correcting that....and yes its just a matter of merging them which I have tried to merge and people arent doing it.
I see the other profile manager hasn't been active since January 1, 2016 so you'll likely have to wait 30 days for that to happen.  I also fixed the age for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Knott-646.  The Find A Grave information is impossible (it shows her born 70 years after her husband and 50 years after her child was born). The images on Find A Grave can be a great help, the information on Find A Grave sometimes not so much, take those with a grain of salt, this is a good example of that.  :)
why does 30 days need to go by?
The 30-days waiting period is to allow time for the profile manager to notice that a merge has been proposed for a profile that was duplicated.  By then you might forget about it and someone could come along and set it as an unmerged match for some reason like "the two profiles have different Wikitree-IDs and this must be investigated" and when that is noticed it gets reinitiated and the 30-day cycle can start afresh.  But hopefully that won't happen with this one.  :)

Ok well it's been like a month and a half already since I first initiated the merge. Someone needs to get on the ball. We can't have discombobulated stuff like this. I put how the Measells/Mizell line is supposed to go in order.

Hey Darvana,

If it's been a month and the profile manager hasn't moved forward with the merges - rejecting, approving or setting as unmerged match, then you should be able to get the merge on through. Try clicking on the merge link in the list at the bottom where you initialed the merge.
