John Peck is listed in the 1850 US Census as living in Lafayetta,Medina,Ohio - where did he come from ???

John Peck m. Elizabeth Hunt, Aug. 19, 1847 in Medina, Ohio. According to the 1850 US Census: John was 29,b. in Ohio, Elizabeth was 21,b. in New York, Nathan was 1,b. in Ohio, Augustus was 1/12,b. in Ohio.

They moved to Ottawa co., Michigan @ 1853. John d. 1861. Elizabeth froze to death Dec. 25,1892.

The 1870 US Census has two of they sons, Frank and John jr. back in Ohio !!

You probably have this, he was born in Ohio (Ohio didn't have any birth/death records until th 1880s) in about 1821, can't find anything beyond this.

Thank you Tom, I've been at this 24 years. First time I was aware that Ohio Birth/Death records started in the 1880's

Have you tried this link:  http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ohmedina/lookup.htm?  Perhaps on older census will provide you more details?  How about his death certificate?

Just curious...do you know if Coral Peck was related? http://us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/oh/medina/1830/index.txt Westfield Township is very close to Lafayette, Ohio.
