Hi and welcome,

I've been tracing a small "twig" of the Payne family tree.  John Payne was a Revolutionary War patriot from New Hampshire; his father ran "Payne's Tavern" in the college town of Hanover, New Hampshire.  A word of caution:  there were several John Payne's, and at least two Samuel Payne's. Let me know if you want more info, Janine
