Is it possible that this John Johnson is the father of both Robert Johson, born 1643 and James Johnson, born 1662?

Robert Johnson was married to my 7th great grandmother, Katherine Allen, and James Johnson was married to my 6th great grandmother, Mary Johnson.  Robert and Katherine are also the parents of Mary Johnson who married James Johnson.

So Robert and James were brothers who were born about 20 years apart.  The daughter of the eldest brother married her dad's brother.

My Johnson family did immigrate to the U.S. until after 1900.  Two went to Canada.

Robert Johnson is also my 7h GGF via his second marriage to Ann UKNOWN.

My jumping off source is "The Johnson and Johnstons....",book by Eddis Johnson and Hugh B. Johnston where on page 39 the James Johnston you list as spouse of Mary Johnson died in 1647 and whose "ancestry not traced".

So perhaps James and Robert are not brothers.

I've adopted some related abandoned profiles and will over time make some edits or suggestions.
