Westmoreland, PA birth record for Hannah Haden Wright, dau. of Catherine Applegate.

Question

Looking for primary source proof for an application to Sons of American Revolution for Patriot Robert Wright. Hannah was purportedly born 1787. Her parents married 1780. Have a request into Westmoreland Historical Soc.

I now have substantial evidence that Hannah Haden was adopted and not a biological descendant of Robert Wright and Catherine Applegate. In addition, the Vorees lineage is in error and they did not have children. Confirmation of this latter discovery is supported by Robert Wright's will, which bequeaths no Wright children. Finally, the Adams County OH marriage book records a marriage between George Fisher and Hannah Haden.

You want a county birth record from 1787?  You could maybe find a church baptismal record from back then, but even that would be a longshot.

Probate records and deeds are probably your best bet, as they do exist for Westmoreland County back then.

Did I say county birth record? Westmoreland Historical Society is looking for all sources, including baptismal and Quaker. Vorees is quoted as not listing Hannah Haden Wright as a dau. of Robert Wright and Catherine Applegate, but instead a son born in the same year, 1787 but different day and month (not a twin). Lineage societies like DAR and SAR have been burned by un- primary-sourced family trees and have stopped allowing use of old applications submitted by prior members as documentation in new apps, since errors propagate. 

Deeds and probate in Westmoreland Co. for a newborn girl are unlikely sources as they moved a year later.
