Can not merge profiles

I was creating a profile and Wikitree gave me the possibility of an existing profile. I verifired the profile and its a match. So I selected the profile to save. It created another profile. Then I tried merging the 2 profiles but it keeps telling me that the merge is rejected...What gives?!

Fortier-868 and Fortier-1418

Hi John,

When you created Fortier-1418 somehow a rejected match was generated.

I have removed the rejected match and initiated the merge of both profiles.
