I just added this young man to our family tree.  I have very little information on this part of the family.  I have found that he was KIA/MIA during WWII  I would like to do right by his profile

What is the best way for me to honor his service to our country?

There are several categories that could be placed on this young man's profile.  First is WWII       https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:World_War_II%2C_United_States_of_America

WWII MIA  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:World_War_II%2C_MIA%2C_United_States_of_America

Link to add Pearl Harbor attack:  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Pearl_Harbor_Attack

Link to US Navy sailors.  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:World_War_II%2C_United_States_Navy

You can go further, and click on the US Navy Ships WWII and find the Scamp and add that     . https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:USS_Scamp_%28SS-277%29%2C_United_States_Navy

What a moving story!  Please check out the World War II project where you will find a template you can use to honor his service and include him in our project. Once his profile is made, let's include him in the Roll of Honor project as well which honors military killed in action   If you need any help, please let us know. The link to the project is below:

Thank you. Along with this young man there is another set that I found

[[Williams-45581|Florida Ann (Williams) Jones]]   lost 3 sons in the War and another just after in a training accident.

I am not sure what I need to do to have these young men receive the honor they deserve.

This may sound bad but I dont know this part of the family, but I would like to make sure they receive the Honor the gave their life for.  My  close family has a long history of Military Service and I have tried to include that in their profiles.

I just dont know what or how to do these with taste and respect to their direct line family

I'll be happy to help you. Terri and Terry add them to the Roll of Honor. I'll forward to them. I'll take a look.

It's always a great start to get the sources and information you need on the profile and then it can be polished!  Remember we are always improving profiles so don't be concerned if you cannot do It all at once.
The profile of Florida Ann is quite nice! Since your family has a long history of military service, like my own, you may want to make space pages to keep track of your military ancestors. You can make them by war or era or by last name if you like.  I included my direct descendants for the Rev War (with a couple of uncles I think) but for the Civil War I am studying the effect on families and on that space page I include cousins etc. There is no reason to set them up the way I did. You can find more examples on the space pages of the Military and War project and subprojects.
