I want to merge Kilbourne-281 and Kilbourn-307 but need help/answers

I want to merge Kilbourne-281 and Kilbourn-307 (note the extra 'e' in Kilbourne-281).  The two William Kilbourns were born and died on the same date in the same place, and have the same child, Hiram (also two separate profiles that should also be merged, Kilbourn-325 and Kilbourn-305.)

I am the profile manager of William, Kilbourn-307  and of Hiram, Kilbourn-305, but not of the other two apparent duplicates. The first problem is when I try to start the merge, I get a message that the two are currently "set as unmerged matches to indicate that the two profiles are not ready to be merged yet". What needs to happen before they are ready?

I am unsure whether someone else needs to decide whether to proceed with the merge or what will happen if I click on the option to "remove the unmerged match".  I'm assuming I don't want to do that, unless that allows the merge to proceed.

Is there some sort of waiting period that needs to elapse?  I have other individuals I'd like to add to this line, but I don't want to keep creating problems.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

It may be that until the question of spelling of the LNAB has been settled, the merge should not be completed. If you can document some way of determining the spelling of Kilbourne/Kilbourn, then go ahead and un-match  then merge them. Otherwise, be patient, or contact the other manager for their opinion.

When you remove the unmerged match, you start the process again. Eventually, for the merge to proceed someone will have to do that.  You probably should send a privage message to the other profile manager.  It is possible to agree to one spelling and use the other spelling as an alternative last neme.
