The Connectors Project and Collaborative Profile of the Week Present
Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington
Edward Ellington "Duke" Ellington (1899 – 1974) was an American composer, pianist, and jazz bandleader. Listen Here.
1. Let's get Duke connected.
2. He has parents and family. Do they have sources? Basic Bios?
3. He had a musical background. What was it?
4. How and when did he get his nickname?
5. A summary of his career would be a nice addition to his biography. Would someone add to what's there.
6. What else would you like to add to his profile?
7. If you add photos, please make sure they are public domain and attribute them properly.
It's easy to contribute to this weeks Collaborative Profile. Choose a topic, it doesn't have to be listed. Post an answer first (to avoid duplication of efforts and to keep the question fresh). You can add information directly to the profile with inline sources. You can just list the source right after the facts. Highlight it, and click on the button.
Connectors Project
The Connectors Project on WikiTree focuses on connecting the unconnected cousins and branches around WikiTree, in hopes of having as many profiles connected to the main "trunk" as possible. This is done through quality research, much sourcing, and a lot of time. We welcome anyone to join us! Our primary task list comes from the Unconnected categories and lists created by the Database Errors project. We have a monthly Connectors Challenge, are associated with the Connection Combat Challenge, and do a lot of talking on our Connectors Chat page.
Thank you
