My wife's maternal grandmother was Blanche Watson Johnson who married George Leviston Allen (born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England). Our records have her born in Trinidad in 1863 (but it could have been the Bahamas). He was a Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps. They had 6 sons (one born in Trinidad and one in Bermuda and the others in England) and 4 daughters (3 born in England and one in Ireland). They lived in Dublin, Ireland prior to her death there in 1951. My wife was born in Dublin and we have lived in New Zealand since 1970.

I believe the Johnsons I'm related to came from Prussia.  I haven't dug into the family background enough to totally discount the notion that some may have come through the UK.  I'm curious at this point.  This is my dad's side of the family, but not biological father.

Yes, it is the same Blanche Watson Johnston. She was my Great Grand Mother's sister. My research indicates that she was married to George Leviston Allen, and lived in Trinidad for some time.
