Hi all,

I am trying to obtain a birth certificate for someone born in Canada in 1922. Can anyone tell me how I can go about getting a copy?

Thanks

Applications for birthmarriage and death certificates for provinces and territories across Canada are available below. To get started, simply select the type of vital record required, followed by the province or territory where the birthmarriage or death occurred.

Most Canadian provinces have their vital statistics on line for free. Births to 100 years ago, marriages to 75 years and deaths to 50 years. Check Canada Genweb for what is available for each province and instructions for later date ordered certificates. Each province would have individual procedures
As to death registrations in British Columbia, familysearch has available the information as well as the image for viewing and download.  These are worth their weight in gold!

Death registrations, 1872-1986

1992-1993 and First Nations death 1917-1956 as well as some overseas casualties.
