William Christopher is descended from Paul Revere?

Question

I see on a couple pages that state that William Christopher descends directly from Paul Revere. Scott has done extensive work to fill in his tree, but I don't see what the connection would be. Additionally, we have yet to connect him to the larger tree even though we have traced his mother's side back to the 1700's. Anyone have an idea where this rumor (or fact) came from and can possibly help us connect him?

I know his father is a dead end, due to the adoption. So his mother's line would have to be where this originated. I hadn't heard this rumor before so I'll have to see if I can find something on it.

I saw it on the Wikipedia page and then it was mentioned in another article about William Christopher. I did not see a citation for either, so it may be complete conjecture. I also wonder if it was on his father's adoptive family. I did notice that Paul Revere's descendants on Wikitree are sorely lacking even though there were quite a few Lincolns that his daughters were the mother of.

So I was able to bring him back to the Van Tuyl's - which led to the Sebring's - which led to one of my ancestors, Volkert Dircks. So I guess I'm very distantly related to William Christopher as a result.

Well then that means I am also distantly related to William Christopher through my Schamp line that traces to Dirck Volckertszen. :) Thanks for finding that link!

On a positive note, I just connected him to the global tree through the Cole family. We'll have to wait for the links to update tonight.

I took a look at Paul Revere, too:

Not much has been done with his descendants, so I'm guessing we'd need more information on his descendants to know where the connection might exist.
