When you look at a census you need to really look at a census. That means if things were changed completely. Like were they 2 1850 census. and if they were look at both of them and decide to see the original census, it should have the original but sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it can be all wrong too. or Maybe the things were changed for the better. Was it a different name altogether? or was the first name changed or was the last name misspelled. Like Dinkins, to Dinkens, that is ok, But from Dinkins, to Denham. I would look into that. Because that it is another name entirely. Go Back to Dinkins to 1850 census then trace it forward. Like on the right side it should have the 1860, 1870, 1880, and the 1900 and look at the bottom part does it have a continue button where it will tell you to click onto it to where the rest will show up. Then it will start to have the death certificate of someone in the family, But look at where they were what city, county, what state, look at the children, who has left to get married, who is still at home. Also when you are at the census where at least some have left home, some census will tell you to click on to see who else is on the page, do click and see who else is on the page, that is how I found Glover, and Clarence they had married and moved out but they were on the same page as their mother. This Washington Denkins or Dinkins may be him, I don't know cause i did not find him, But I did find George W. L. Denham or Dinkins and why they didn't correct it I don't know, Go back and stick with George W.L. Dinkins, born 1866 I believe, and stick with Marion County, Cause I don't think they left that place. I did find that a Nancy Evans did marry a George W. Dinkins. Not a Nancy A. or anything, Just Nancy Dinkins. Since we don't know what age she was at the time of her marriage, we might have to guess. And when they have the first census, 1900, that is when they had Ozzie and he was 5. But then he was born at 1895. But 1920 census says he was born in 1898.So I know that some are not right. But I cannot tell you what is wrong. I try to trace the mother and father first and then the children but sometimes it doesn't work out to good. Because I found that George w. Dinkins's father is John Henry Dinkins, born 1822 NC. and that is mother is Elizabeth Adams born 1829 NC check it out. I am not sure if this is correct because i am not familiar with the family. but there is one big mistake that they made and if you do the research, on the 1850 census for Surry, NC they have listed a Dorinda J Dinkins age 21 and she was born 1829. but they also have her listed on the 1870 census for Monroe, Darke, Ohio, John Henry Dinkins - age 48 Dorinda J Dinkins - age 2. unless this is a different Dorinda J. Dinkins. I can't tell you what is really going on. It is weird. But George W. Dinkins shows up on the 1860 Census for Yadkin,NC as a 5 years old. Which that he was born 1855-56, whether or not this is him I don't know because sometimes it gets confusing as to where he was born exactly and who did he marry? or where did he live? I will try and help you the best I can, but they may mean starting at the beginning. But I will try. Nancy
