Is this the colonel William Crawford who 1777 served with Gen Washinton at Valley Forge?

Was sent by General Washinton to quell rebellion of Native. People who were being stirred up by the British . He had extensive had landholdings in the northeastern corner of Pennsylvania.

This may be the right William Crawford that was killed by Indians in 1781.  I also know he had several wives.  I'm not sure why, if they died in childbirth or whatever.
