Try familysearch.org - a free website - at:  https://familysearch.org/

is a good place to start.

You can enter names and estimated ranges for birth - marriage - or death if you don't have exact dates.  So if you have someone born in 1920 - you can guess that their parents might be have a marriage between 1905- 1920 or so, and play with the date ranges; or guess that the parents were born some 18-30 years prior and plug that information in.  As you find details from census data etc.  You narrow the ranges.

You can also enter locations as vague as US and then get more specific to a State, and if you know the county in the state, you can actually add the county when looking at census data.

The ones I sent you yesterday came from that site - I entered Lilly Ewers - husband last name Phillips - location US  - and came up with many records.

If you know the LOCATION - you can do a general search on the web - for additional resources by putting

Vital Records: and the State/Town name     or

Genealogy: with the Location name

in a search bar like google and see what shows up as well.  That will often bring you to state or state/town records .
