So you can connect this question to his profile by adding it to the quesiton where it asks for WikiID. Mears-600

I did some looking. Looks like the wife needs to be merged. Also looks like one of Moses children Lottie was born to close to her sister and there are no sources for Lottie and her mother Nettie.
I added some sources parents and siblings then Family Search crashed for me.
records at family search say the Nettie the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Bowman died in Arkansas.

1 Sep 1937
Little Rock,Pulaski,Arkansas,USA
So there are really to many conflicts to spend any more time on this. If you could better source your profiles and explain and flush out the information it would help.
Her sister was born October 28, 1887 and my grandmother abt January 23, 1889 so dates are okay. I have the records for Nettie buried in California and census her parents were Benjamin and Eliza Bowman
I do not know how to merge them, could you help.

If you think he died after 1910, then he should have a death certificate with the state of Missouri. These can be found online from the Missouri Secretary of State, Missouri State Archives website. Here is a link:https://s1.sos.mo.gov/records/Archives/ArchivesMvc/DeathCertificates/

What was your great grandfather's name? If you don't know the name, you can browse everyone named Mears in the death registry.

Not for sure when he died his first name was Moses was born abt 1856  and married Nettie Bowman was a clerk In Gayoso, Scott Missouri find no record of death just census.
I am not sure when he died went to site you sent found no results, know he had to be alive in 1988 because my grandmother was born than .
A good guess then is that he died between 1888 and 1910, in which case, there may not be a formal death record. You can try contacting the local library in Gayoso, Missouri to see if they have a resource that would help. For instance, they might have an index to obituaries of the local paper, and perhaps you might find an obituary. (This assumes he died around Gayoso, Missouri.) Or they might have cemetery records, in which case, you might find burial information. A last guess is to look for probate records in the Gayoso area. The local courthouse might have an index to probate records, or the local library might have this.
another option would be to look at his siblings parents wife and children. In their obits they will often reference relatives, indicating if they were alive and their residence or they were already dead.

This would further narrow your search for death records for him.
Thanks
