I am trying to find the parentage and ancestors of WILLIAM S. BENNETT, who was born in ANSON County, NC in 1777.

My Bennett family is from Anson County. But what does the "S." stand for? Many of these early Bennett men did not have middle names... The first William Bennett I am aware of who bore a middle name was William Neville Bennett in Anson County. The family arrived from Maryland in 1771 or so. The will above is for William Neville Bennett (d 1840) who is buried just outside of Wadesboro, NC (Anson County).

I tried to find him but do you know who he married?  I can find a William S. Bennett but not in Anson County. Do You know if he lived in any other counties? and do you know if he was say maybe born in 1776 or 1778? I cannot find anything definite on him, a wife, or maybe a place would help. Nancy
